- Firefighting in Mundesley began in the early 1920s. With no permanent fire station the pump was housed anywhere available, usually local farm buildings. In the early 1930’s a building in Back Street was acquired to use as a fire station, & a steam driven Merryweather fire engine obtained from Cromer replaced the old pump
